The average user has to worry about the day an external device boot is required in order to save the data on that Mac. ![]() Most or, better said, the average user doesn’t have to worry about evil maid attacks. I would argue that it’s detrimental to most users. Some people would argue that this security setting is recommended for most users. The chip is responsible for a lot of things, and one of them is not allowing you to boot from an external device.
